The National Center for School Mental Health (NCSMH) leads innovation in comprehensive school mental health systems designing and evaluating cutting-edge programs, practices and policies to advance high impact outcomes for youth, families, educators and communities.
Through the SAMHSA-funded School Health Services National Quality Initiative, we developed the School Health Assessment and Performance Evaluation system, or the SHAPE system. When you register your school or district for the SHAPE system, you have access to an entire collection of school mental health resources. You can visit the current SHAPE site at www.theSHAPEsystem.com, or tour SHAPE 2.0, which launches in August with new features, such as individual registration and a streamlined school mental health quality assessment! View our Sign up for SHAPE 2.0 flier for more information.
In our resources on this site, you can navigate through descriptions and resource samples across the 8 domains of the school mental health quality assessment that align with the national Mental Health Technology Transfer Center Curriculum:
- Foundations of School Mental Health
- Needs Assessment and Resource Mapping
- Mental Health Screening
- Mental Health Promotion for All (Tier 1)
- Early Intervention and Treatment (Tiers 2 & 3)
- Funding and Sustainability
