| | Joan Moir Dodge, Ph.D. Joan Dodge is a Senior Policy Associate at the National Technical Assistance Center for Children's Mental Health at Georgetown University’s Center for Child and Human Development. Currently, Dr. Dodge has responsibility for implementing a series of Policy Academies for selected states that are interested in designing a major child mental health policy in order to sustain their system of care for children/youth and their families. Prior to the academy work, she directed a targeted technical assistance initiative to states, overseeing a small cadre of faculty and consultants (TA Coordinators) who conducted individual needs assessment with their assigned states and selected communities. In addition to her role in policy development, Joan has been developing a number of initiatives that focus on human service delivery workforce issues within the public sector. She is co-chairing the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD) Children’s Subcommittee on Leadership and Workforce and partnering with the Annapolis Coalition on creating a national strategic plan on workforce for the behavioral health field. This area of workforce development is one that is being addressed at the national and state levels and is an emerging crisis in the children’ mental health field. |
