Sylvia Huntley, Training Director
Sylvia Huntley is the Meeting Coordinator for the Center for School Mental Health. Sylvia earned a Bachelor of Theology degree in 1996, and she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a minor in Psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She is an ordained minister, Chaplain at Harbor Hospital, a community advocate, and partakes in a strong urban ministry program for the City of Baltimore. She serves on the advisory board for several community projects and churches, has organized a Women's Fellowship Group, and is the President of over 450 volunteers going into the Pretrial Detention Center & Services, where she works closely with the Director, Commissioner and other Administrators. As we move into this new millennium, Sylvia envisions the need to "bridge the gap" between communities and churches, and therefore has started aftercare programs to help inmates upon their release. She has been working for the University of Maryland System coordinating conferences for healthcare providers since 1989. Sylvia is the devoted mother of two children, both of whom are enrolled in college - one for psychology and the other for accounting. |
