Cynthia Rosacker Glimpse, MS

Cynthia Glimpse has been an advocate for families of children with mental illness and special education needs for 25 years. Her involvement with advocacy began after seeking support in connection with her nephew¹s emotional and educational disabilities. It increased when her daughter was found eligible to receive special education services.  She has worked in the disability and mental health field for over 30 years, including four years as a psychotherapist. She has served on various committees and boards at the local, state and national level.

Glimpse is a project officer at the Academy for Educational Development (AED) and the Coordinator for TAcommunities for the Office of Special Education Program’s (OSEP) newly funded Technical Assistance Coordination Center (TACC).  Glimpse is a member of the IDEA Partnership’s Communities of Practice (CoP) on School Based Mental Health (a past co-facilitator for the Family-School-Community Partnership Practice Group), Transition, and Creating Agreement and a member of the American Psychological Association.

Glimpse worked for Virginia’s parent training and information center on a Maternal Child Health Bureau grant that developed training and curricula for experienced foster parents who mentored new foster parents. She also worked as an information and research specialist for the National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (NICHCY). Glimpse has presented at various national conferences and has written a number of articles. Glimpse spear headed the re-design of the website for TAcommunities http://www.tacommunities.org/ in 2007, was a contributor to the development of http://matrix2.rrfcnetwork.org/ in 2006, and http://www.rrfcnetwork.org/ in 2005.
