Predoctoral Psychology Internship The VA Maryland Health Care System/University of Maryland School of Medicine Psychology Internship Consortium offers a school mental health track through the Center for School Mental Health and School Mental Health Program. The Consortium is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. The next site visit will be during the academic year 2016. As an internship training program recognized by the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science, we are committed to advancing a scientist-practitioner model of training. We are particularly interested in applicants from graduate programs that place an equally strong emphasis on a sound foundation in scientific psychology and broad clinical training. In 2010, the school mental health track was awarded the American Psychological Association Distinguished Contributions for the Education and Training of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Psychologists Award. This position involves opportunities to advance skills in research, training, policy and practice related to child and adolescent mental health services, with an emphasis on school-based services. Fellows work with leaders and faculty in the areas of school mental health, evidence-based practice implementation, System of Care, and family engagement. In addition to collaborating on school mental health research and training activities, the fellowship may include the opportunity for clinical practice in schools, depending on candidates’ interests and experience.
