Jennifer Cunningham

Jennifer Cunningham received a master’s degree in school psychology from The University of South Florida, and will receive her Ph.D in school psychology in August 2012. She is currently completing her predoctoral psychology internship at the VA Maryland Health Care System/University of Maryland Baltimore Psychology Consortium, School Mental Health track, where she conducts, distills, and disseminates research on best practices in school mental health for the Center for School Mental Health. She also serves as a school mental health clinician through the University of Maryland School Mental Health Program. Jennifer’s dissertation was a quantitative examination of the accuracy of using educator nominations to identify elementary school students with at-risk levels of anxiety and depression so that they can be appropriately included in school-based mental health services. Her main research interests include crisis and trauma, internalizing disorders, children with chronic illness, family engagement, and issues germane to school-based mental health services. She has co-authored several manuscripts on topics including interdisciplinary communication and collaboration, professional development, integrated healthcare, and emotional dysregulation in youth.
